Banyan Tree Hotels and Angsana Velavaru Maldives is celebrating equality and women’s rights this international women’s day. To show appreciation to the women across the world, Banyan Tree is giving 38% off best available rate at all of their resorts worldwide! (And that includes Angsana Velavaru in the Maldives too!)
On that note, here’s a special Women’s Day feature of Aminath Ibrahim – The assistant Front Office Manager at Angsana Velavaru.

As one of the friendliest, most authentic, genuinely caring and sincerely thoughtful people, Aminath wins the hearts of our guests and associates. "When I am taking care of guests, I treat them the way I would want my family treated.” Aminath explains. "I do my best to meet guests’ needs, and no matter what it is, I try to help them. Seeing their gratitude makes me feel good about myself and keeps me going forward everyday.”

"Working for Angsana Velavaru has not just been my job for the last 7 years, it has been my passion! Working in resorts in Maldives, associates are usually separated from their families. However, at Velavaru, team members are able to take resort ferries back to their home islands everyday and spend quality time with their families afterwork.”

With her husband Ammadey working as a dive instructor, the family is also very keen on supporting Angsana Velavaru CSR efforts. Both Aminath & Ammadey help out Velavaru CSR Ambassador Nick Hardman in organizing school visits and coastal cleanups at Meedhoo Island every month.

“It warms my heart when I see Angsana orange t-shirts disembarking from the resort speedboats. Meedhoo islanders, especially the little ones, are always so excited to see our team members coming to help.” We remove plastic waste and keep the island very clean. We also organize classroom presentations on plastic pollution. Educating the new generations is the key in making Maldives Islands a safe environment for our children.

I hope my baby continues our steps and pursues a career in hospitality. I believe Banyan Tree is a very family oriented company that goes beyond common industry benefits and gives everyone a chance to focus on what’s most important in every person’s life - a family.
