Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas shined at the Maldives Travel Awards 2018, taking home three awards. The International chain is run by Thai company Minor Hotels, and has over 40 resorts and hotels in 13 countries – including the Maldives.
Anantara was selected as the Leading Hotel/Resort Brand, and the two other awards went to two of Anantara’s properties in Maldives, Naladhu Private Island Maldives winning the Leading Private Island of Maldives Award, and Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort won the Leading Spa Resort Award.
The hotel chain runs five properties in Maldives; Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, Naladhu Private Island Maldives, Niyama Private Islands Maldives, and Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas.
Initiated in 2012 by MATATO, Maldives Travel Awards celebrate and honor the best tourism and hospitality products in the Maldives, while fostering relationships with suppliers and local travel agents. From 20 categories in 2012, the awards have now expanded into three editions totaling 55 categories.
Just like last year, MATATO is hosting the People’s Edition to recognize successful pioneers and long-serving individuals in the tourism industry, a Guesthouse Edition, which celebrates the outstanding performance of the up and coming guesthouse sector, and the Grand Gala, which is exclusive for winners in the categories for resorts, airlines and liveaboards.
