Kuredu Island Resort has announced the resort has received the TUI Environmental Champion Award for 2019.
"It is with great honor to announce that Kuredu has received the TUI Environmental Champion award for 2019! For already the fourth consecutive year, this important award is a testament to the resort’s ongoing, measurable actions toward sustainable hotel management." Kuredu said in a statement.
"In 2017, we significantly reduced the number of single-use plastics at the resort (and plan on eradicating single-use plastic straws completely by September 2018), encourage guests to use reusable water flasks, continue providing in-house bottled water, use cutlery made from biodegradable materials at events whenever possible, and work hard to raise eco-awareness among guests, team and local communities alike."
TUI, one of the largest tour operators globally, is a keen enthusiast for environmentally responsible hotels, and its Environmental Champion Award is limited to a select group of TUI Germany Hotels and Resorts, worldwide, whose performance achieves exemplary sustainable tourism.
