He landed his first General Manager position in 2010, managing properties in the Maldives, the Phillipines and Vietnam.

According to Michael, he is extremely excited to take on this new challenge.

“Maldives is a breath-taking destination, which I have been privileged to experience several times in my career. Joining such a stunning property, managed by one of most famous names in the hospitality industry, made my decision to return to the country an easy one. I look forward to working with the team at Mövenpick as we prepare for the hotel’s official opening next month.” Michael said.

Mövenpick is well-known and deep-seated in the food and beverage industry, and this heritage with Michael’s own passion for the culinary arts are the perfect match.

This will be the first property of renowned Swiss hotel chain, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, in the country. Situated in northern Noonu atoll, Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives promises serene seclusion and tropical tranquillity. The resort will also showcase a series of unique architectural features and distinctive design touches that complement the soothing natural surroundings.

Organic shapes for the roofs in villas and restaurants make the structure blend rather well with the environment. The ergonomic interiors give guests the comfort of staying close to nature – nature is the biggest luxury in the islands of Maldives and the architecture of the resort gives it even more prominence.

The resort will feature 72 overwater pool villas, 30 beach pool suites and three beach spa pool residences. All the accommodation options including private swimming pools. While the resort is designed as a destination for relaxation and rejuvenation, with a high degree of privacy, it will also feature recreational facilities to suit a wide range of guests, from honeymooners to adventure-seeking families.

Additionally, the resort consists of three restaurants and a wine bar, which will stock famous products of Movenpick such as its renowned ice cream brand, coffee, chocolate and wines.
