To strengthen tourism in the Maldives, this tropical paradise is now officially going to Sponsors La Liga club Celta Vigo Under the partnership, the official tourism brand of Maldives’s ‘Visit Maldives’ logo to be printed on Celta de Vigo jerseys, stadium, practice kit, and boards. In addition to this, Celta de Vigo will also provide assistance and support to develop the Maldives Football.
Two kids from the Maldives has also been granted the opportunity to train at Celta de Vigo’s Academy. These kids were selected by former Real Madrid and Spanish Defender Míchel Salgado during the Tourism Day celebratory Kids Football Fiesta that took place on 2nd October. The two boys were from Ghaazee School, Aiham Ibrahim and Hussain Aaish who played key roles to clinch Champions of Kids Football Fiesta for Ghaazee School team.

Tourist arrivals to the Maldives increased by 36.2 per cent in july, making it the highest growth in tourist numbers for any month in the past 15 years. Official figures show that a total of 190,713 tourists visited the Maldives in April — a 36.3 per cent increase over the 163,000 tourists that visited the country in April 2018.
Maldives welcomed a record 1.4 million tourists in 2018. It was a 6.8 per cent increase from the 1,389,542 tourists that chose to holiday in the Maldives in 2017.
