ATMOSPHERECORE JOINS LOOTAH BIOFUELS FOR MALDIVES BIODIESEL DRIVE

In a groundbreaking move aimed at combatting carbon emissions and advancing sustainability efforts, Maldives’ prominent hotel group, AtmosphereCore, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lootah Biofuels. This pioneering collaboration was formally sealed at The Deals Hub, an influential Dubai business forum held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, spanning from November 1st to 2nd. The MOU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lootah Biofuels, Yousuf bin Saeed Lootah, and the Chairman of AtmosphereCore, Ismail Hilmy.

The primary objective of this strategic partnership is to proactively address carbon dioxide emissions by phasing out conventional diesel fuels in favor of biodiesel within the Maldives. The initiative aspires to harness used cooking oil from high-end resorts, hotels, restaurants, and households to produce biodiesel locally. Significantly, this endeavor dovetails with the Maldives’ resolute commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2030, marking a pivotal milestone as the first resort company in the Maldives delves into biodiesel production.

Lootah Biofuels, a well-established entity since 2010, is a fervent advocate for environmentally responsible and sustainable energy solutions. Central to their mission is the synthesis of green biofuels, particularly biodiesel, derived from collected cooking oil sourced from diverse outlets.
