A group of seasoned tourism professionals has launched a new non-governmental organization (NGO) named ‘Destination Future’.
The primary goal of the NGO is to increase the employment of Maldivians in the tourism sector and offer training opportunities.
According to the latest National Census, the tourism industry employs 15,500 Maldivians compared to 36,000 foreign workers.
In addition to employment initiatives, ‘Destination Future’ aims to address various industry-related issues and concerns.
The NGO’s leaders are highly experienced professionals with 15 to 25 years in the tourism sector, currently holding senior roles in various organizations. Notable members include Hamza Saeed, Amjad Thaufeeq, Aishath Ali, Ibrahim Inad, Hussain Hassan, Riya Saeed, Nuas Mohamed, and Abdulla Nabeel.
The organization is now inviting tourism sector workers to apply for membership.
