Tourism Minister Departs for India to Explore Maldives Roadshow

Recognizing India as a pivotal pillar of its tourism industry, the Maldives is launching a concerted effort to rejuvenate its Indian market. Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal is set to lead a high-level delegation to India today, marking the commencement of the “Welcome India 2024” roadshow.

This joint initiative, spearheaded by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATTAO), and the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM), aims to re-establish the Maldives as the preferred holiday destination for Indian travelers.

A series of roadshows in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore will showcase the Maldives’ diverse offerings, from luxury resorts to intimate guesthouses. The campaign seeks to strengthen business-to-business relationships and foster a renewed enthusiasm for the Maldives among Indian travel trade professionals.
