Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has officially launched the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, a global initiative designed to enhance the destination’s presence and engage with travel trade professionals worldwide. The series, which aims to provide key insights into the diverse tourism offerings of the Maldives, began yesterday with a webinar specifically tailored for the French travel market.
The “Discover Maldives” series will feature multiple sessions, each targeting 60-80 travel professionals and trade media in key markets. Conducted in localized languages, the webinars are crafted to ensure effective communication with travel agents and tour operators, offering them an in-depth understanding of the Maldives’ unique features, experiences, and offerings.
The inaugural session, held on 21st August 2024, spotlighted the Maldives’ appeal as a premier travel destination for visitors from France and other French-speaking nations. The session featured presentations from prominent industry partners, including Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau, who shared insights into their exclusive products, services, and experiences.
Through this initiative, MMPRC aims to sustain and boost tourist arrivals from key and emerging markets. The “Discover Maldives” webinar series seeks to maintain the Maldives’ status as a top destination for global travelers, while also fostering strong partnerships with travel trade professionals. Additionally, the webinars will highlight the diverse tourism products and experiences available in the Maldives, catering to a wide range of traveler preferences and interests.
Over the past eight months, the Maldives has seen significant growth in tourist arrivals from various key markets. Leading the list are China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. The “Discover Maldives” webinar series is poised to further solidify the Maldives’ presence in these regions, while also cultivating interest in the Sunny Side of Life among new and emerging markets.
