Canareef Resort Maldives Shines at FHAM 2025 with 10 Culinary Awards and Housekeeping Debut

Canareef Resort Maldives has achieved a remarkable milestone at the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge 2025 (FHAM 2025), securing an impressive 10 culinary awards while marking the housekeeping team’s debut appearance.

The three-day competition, held from September 7th to 9th in Malé, brought together top culinary and hospitality talents from across the region. Canareef fielded seven chefs in multiple categories, while its housekeeping team competed for the first time in the honeymoon bed decoration segment, adding a new dimension to the resort’s participation.

Among the standout performers was Rachindi Anjana, who clinched a Gold medal in Poultry Hot Cooking, excelling in one of the competition’s most demanding categories. Ashan Chanika showcased his versatility by winning a Silver medal in Vegetable Carving and three Bronze medals across Appetizers, Lamb Hot Cooking, and Beef Hot Cooking. Ashok contributed significantly with three Bronze medals, while Arvind Singh and Sanity Lahiru each secured a Bronze medal, underscoring the depth of talent within Canareef’s culinary brigade.

In total, Canareef’s awards spanned a wide range of categories, including:

  • Gold: Poultry Hot Cooking
  • Silver: Vegetable Carving
  • Bronze: Appetizers (2), Lamb Hot Cooking, Beef Hot Cooking (2), Artistic Pastry Showpieces, Three Course Meals, Revello Creative Dessert

General Manager Mohamed Jaish Ibrahim praised the achievement, saying:

“Congratulations to our incredible Chefs Team on winning these well-deserved medals! Your dedication, creativity, and passion for excellence have truly paid off. This reflects hard work and teamwork, and we couldn’t be prouder.”

Assistant General Manager Deepak Kannan echoed the sentiment, highlighting the housekeeping team’s milestone:

“Congratulations to the culinary team and housekeeping too. It was their first time participating, and we are glad they had this exposure. More to come for sure.”
