Ibrahim Shiuree, a well-rounded professional with experience in sports, project management, and public relations, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
Shiuree, 40, is a former Maldivian table tennis player and currently serves as the vice-president of the Table Tennis Association. Beyond sports, his background boasts experience as a Director of Projects and Infrastructure in a private company, where he spearheaded various airport development projects.
Demonstrating a commitment to public service, Shiuree has held positions on several boards and committees. He is currently an Executive Board Member of the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MANCI) and previously served as a member of the Hajj Corporation.
Shiuree holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Public Relations and Communication from Limkokwing University in Malaysia. Interestingly, his resume also includes a unique record-setting feat. In 2006, Shiuree was part of a group that achieved a Guinness World Record for cramming the largest number of people into a mini car.
With his diverse background and leadership qualities, Shiuree is expected to bring a fresh perspective and strategic direction to the MMPRC in its endeavors to promote the Maldives as a premier tourist destination.
