Berlin, Germany – March 4, 2025 – The Maldives is making a significant impact at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s largest travel trade fairs, with a 200-member delegation representing 89 tourism stakeholders. Led by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the country is reinforcing its position as a premier global travel destination by emphasizing sustainability, luxury travel, and strategic market expansion, particularly in the German-speaking region.
A Dominant Presence at ITB Berlin 2025
Held from March 4 to 6, 2025, at Messe Berlin, the Maldives is showcasing its tourism offerings at an impressive 504-square-meter double-decker stand. Designed to provide an immersive experience, the stand features meeting areas, a VIP lounge, a 360-degree photo booth, and a traditional Maldivian corner, creating an engaging atmosphere for travel professionals, media representatives, and potential business partners.

A key highlight of the Maldives’ participation is “The Next Chapter of Maldives Tourism – Berlin Edition,” a seminar that explores the country’s latest initiatives to expand market segments, enhance tourist bookings, and promote sustainable tourism practices.
German-Speaking Markets: A Key Focus

Switzerland and Austria followed with 41,062 and 29,425 arrivals, respectively. By February 2025, the Maldives had already welcomed 14,119 German tourists, 4,401 from Austria, and 5,399 from Switzerland, highlighting continued strong demand from the region.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Expansion Initiatives
MMPRC is leveraging ITB Berlin 2025 to strengthen collaborations with leading European travel operators such as TUI and DER Touristik, further enhancing connectivity and market penetration. Additionally, premium branding campaigns have been launched to position the Maldives as a top-tier luxury travel destination for high-end travelers.
Localized marketing efforts have been intensified, ensuring campaigns, advertisements, and digital promotions are available in German, making engagement more effective for potential travelers from the region.
Sustaining Tourism Growth Momentum
Following the Maldives’ historic achievement of welcoming over two million tourists in 2024, MMPRC remains committed to sustaining tourism growth through strategic promotions, global partnerships, and PR activities.
With its pristine beaches, vibrant marine biodiversity, and world-class hospitality, the Maldives continues to position itself as one of the safest and most desirable holiday destinations.
