The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has partnered with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM) to showcase Destination Maldives at the Asian Tourism Fair (ATF-Dhaka) 2024. This collaboration aims to strengthen tourism ties and boost visitor numbers from the emerging Bangladeshi market.
Together, MMPRC, MATATO, and NHGAM will present a Maldives stand at ATF-Dhaka, featuring a wide array of offerings from the country’s top resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and tour operators. The stand will emphasize the Maldives’ natural beauty, rich marine life, and exceptional hospitality, while also promoting local tourism options.
“One of our key objectives this year is to explore new markets and segments,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC. “MATATO joining forces with MMPRC and NHGAM will help us better showcase the Maldives as a top holiday destination in the promising Bangladeshi market.”
ATF-Dhaka, scheduled for September 19-21, 2024, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, offers a prime opportunity for industry professionals to network, collaborate, and explore new business prospects. With Bangladesh being a relatively new market for Maldivian tourism, the fair provides a crucial platform to attract more tourists from Bangladesh and the wider South Asian region.
MMPRC’s involvement in ATF-Dhaka aligns with its strategic goal of promoting the Maldives as the world’s most preferred tourist destination. This participation underscores the commitment to increasing global awareness of the Maldives and building strong relationships with international travel industry partners.
