Traveling to Sri Lanka just got easier and more flexible for Maldivians. The Ministry has announced that obtaining on-arrival visas will continue to be hassle-free, with a $50 fee granting a 30-day stay. However, exciting new changes mean that travelers can now apply for a six-month visa, perfect for extended stays. This new visa option costs $101 and can be easily obtained through the e-visa portal here.
While the 30-day visa remains available on arrival without the need for prior application, the extended six-month visa requires an online application. Be aware that extending your stay beyond 30 days will incur an administrative fee, the specifics of which are currently under discussion by the Foreign Ministry.
In a bid to further enhance bilateral relations, discussions are also underway to potentially maintain the existing visa waiver agreement, ensuring mutually beneficial travel arrangements for citizens of both countries.
