The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), in collaboration with 25 industry partners, is showcasing the vibrant and diverse experiences of the Maldives at Fitur 2025, the first major travel trade event of the year. This highly anticipated event is being held in Madrid, Spain, from January 22 to January 26, 2025.
Recognized as a premier event in the global tourism sector, Fitur holds tremendous importance for industry professionals and the Latin American international markets. MMPRC’s participation aims to strengthen the Maldives’ brand presence in Spain and Europe while fostering connections with leading travel agents and markets in the region.
Showcasing the Unique Offerings of the Maldives
At Fitur 2025, the Maldives is highlighting its reputation as a world-class destination offering a wide range of experiences. These include romantic getaways, wellness retreats, family vacations, adventure holidays, and escapes for all seasons. The Maldives’ pavilion at the event reflects the core aspects of sustainability, luxury, romance, adventure, and cultural tourism.
Visitors to the stand are treated to a variety of interactive experiences, such as tasting authentic Maldivian cuisine, participating in activities with traditional attire like libaas and feyli, and crafting personalized calligraphy bookmarks. In addition, dynamic visuals and videos displayed on LED screens bring the beauty and diversity of the Maldives to life. A raffle draw, sponsored by Ithaa Holidays Maldives, is also being conducted to offer complimentary holidays to the Maldives, adding excitement for attendees.
A Focus on Strengthening Connections
MMPRC is leveraging Fitur 2025 to promote the Maldives as a top travel destination and to update travel trade professionals about the latest developments in the Maldives’ tourism industry. This includes opportunities to showcase new products and experiences offered by various resorts, guesthouses, and travel operators.
Spain: A Growing Market for the Maldives
In 2024, Spain ranked among the top 10 source markets for Maldives tourism, contributing 47,835 tourist arrivals. Building on this momentum, MMPRC is continuing its targeted promotional efforts in the Spanish market with an array of planned activities for 2025.
Fitur 2025 is a valuable platform for MMPRC and its partners to solidify the Maldives’ position as a preferred destination, ensuring its unique offerings are well-represented on the global stage.
