President Muizzu Embarks on Official Visit to Islands in Haa Atoll

President Mohammed Muizzu departed today on an official three-day visit to 10 islands in Haa Atoll. This visit, part of his ongoing initiative to meet with local communities across the Maldives, will focus on assessing the development needs of the islands and engaging directly with residents.

The President’s itinerary includes visits to Dhidhdhoo, Filladhoo, Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo, Maarandhoo, Molhadhoo, Muraidhoo, Thakandhoo, Uligam, and Utheem.

During the visit, President Muizzu will hold discussions with island councils, women’s development committees, and heads of local institutions to address the developmental priorities and key concerns of the people. Additionally, he will meet with residents to evaluate their conditions and gain a firsthand understanding of the challenges they face.

The visit includes the inauguration of several key development projects, newly constructed police stations, and council buildings. The President will also launch the cold storage facility project and ID card and passport issuance services in selected islands.

Notably, President Muizzu will officially unveil the “Magey Solar” program, a national renewable energy initiative. He will also attend the signing ceremony of agreements between island councils and the Bank of Maldives to expand ATM services to rural areas.

Accompanying the President are several ministers and senior officials from government institutions, underscoring the administration’s commitment to addressing local needs comprehensively.

This visit to Haa Atoll follows similar trips earlier this month to Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and Raa Atoll, demonstrating the President’s dedication to fostering direct engagement with communities across the Maldives.
