- An extended and upgraded airport (code 3C) with an 1,800 metres runway. The airport can accommodate the newer Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft as well as all categories of private jets and narrow-body airliners.
- The airport is located at the same island as Mercure Kooddoo, and is owned and operated by Pristine Islands Investment, under a Build-Operate-Transfer (“BOT”) scheme with the Maldivian government.
- The airport serves as strategic asset in terms of providing a reliable means of transport in weather conditions for the local indigenous people and other resorts around the South Atolls; with 7 daily flights shuttling between Kooddoo and Male’.
