Baa Atoll, Maldives: In a creditable initiative to celebrate International Youth Day 2024, Reethi Beach Resort organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event, inviting 12 inquisitive students from grades 9 and 10 of Kihaadhoo School for an educational tour of the resort. This event was aimed at giving back to society, nurturing the tourism industry, and ensuring that the students gained valuable insights into the operations of the Maldivian tourism sector.
The students, accompanied by three dedicated teachers and the school principal, were warmly welcomed by the General Manager of Reethi Beach Resort and a team of enthusiastic staff members at the arrival jetty. The visit offered the young minds a comprehensive and immersive experience, providing them with a unique opportunity to explore both the front-of-house and back-of-house operations of the resort.
One of the highlights of the day was the students’ visit to the heart of the island, where they were visibly impressed by the scale and complexity of the work carried out behind the scenes. The students were particularly amazed as they entered Reethi Garden, expressing their wonder with a chorus of “wows.” The experience provided them with a deeper understanding of the intricate operations that sustain the resort.
Additionally, Coconut Spa and Ocean Fanatics, extended warm welcomes to the students, offering insights into their unique contributions to the resort’s operations. These interactions further enriched the students’ understanding of the diverse facets of the hospitality and tourism industry.
The event concluded with a heartwarming certification ceremony, where the students were recognized for their participation and engagement. Hearty meals and a variety of snacks were provided throughout the day for the young ones, making for a well-rounded and pleasant experience of learning, and fulfillment!

The event also saw the active participation of Mohamed Zubair, the Principal of Kihaadhoo School, along with Hassan Haleem, the Leading Teacher, and Nithin Valiyapurakkal, the BTEC Teacher. Their involvement further enriched the students’ experience, as they engaged in discussions and provided additional guidance, ensuring that the educational tour was both comprehensive and impactful. “This experience has opened our students’ eyes to the opportunities in the tourism industry.
