Seamless Journeys: Maldivian Aero Ensures Uninterrupted International Travel During Airbus Repairs

In a statement today, Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Island Aviation—the parent company of Maldivian Aero—reassured travelers that international flights will proceed as scheduled despite ongoing repairs to one of their Airbus aircraft.

Iyas emphasized that repairs are actively underway for Airbus, which is a key player in their international operations. Despite this, flights to popular Indian destinations Trivandrum and Cochin will continue without interruption, honoring all pre-purchased tickets.

To maintain this seamless service, Maldivian Aero is prioritizing its ticketed passengers by deploying their ATR aircraft to cover the routes. While the flight schedules might see slight adjustments, Iyas assured that all efforts are being made to minimize disruptions.

In an impressive display of commitment, Maldivian Aero has also enlisted the help of other airlines. Yesterday, additional aircraft were employed to transport passengers to Male’ City, and travelers scheduled to fly from Trivandrum to Male’ today will be accommodated by the Indian airline, IndiGo.

This announcement comes after a flight from Male’ to Trivandrum experienced engine trouble and had to return to Male’ shortly after takeoff yesterday evening, as shared by Maldivian on social media platform X. Despite this hiccup, the airline’s proactive measures ensure that passengers can continue their journeys with minimal inconvenience.
