By Male’ City, Maldives – The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has officially launched its Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for the next five years, aiming to align its operations with the Maldives’ development and progress in electricity, water, and sewerage services.
The plan was unveiled by STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy in a ceremony attended by the company’s board members, technical experts, and employees. Fahmy emphasized that the SAP is a forward-looking blueprint designed to enhance service delivery, ensure sustainability, and build trust among the Maldivian people.
A Comprehensive Framework for Growth
The SAP outlines a robust framework with:
- 5 Strategic Objectives
- 19 Strategic Goals
- 55 Targets
- 96 Actions
STELCO stated that the plan was developed with the advice and guidance of its board, incorporating input from technical and managerial staff across the company. Fahmy highlighted that the process included contributions from middle management and their teams, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive approach to the company’s future direction.
“As part of this process, departmental management plans have been developed and included in the SAP, reflecting the perspectives of unit heads and their teams, alongside consultations with senior management,” the company stated.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Fahmy praised the educated and modern-thinking youth who contributed to the plan’s development. He described the SAP as a “strong foundation for determining the future” of STELCO.
“The plan will make it easier to streamline company operations, and every department will collaborate to strengthen STELCO’s capabilities and services,” Fahmy said.
