With effect from July 12, 2024, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi announces the hiring of Myla Alpaz as Assistant PR and Communications Manager. Myla, who has worked in the hospitality sector for more than ten years, will be in charge of the resort’s communications and PR efforts and work to increase the brand’s visibility in the marketplace.
Myla is a native of the Philippines and a graduate of Philippine Women’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Science. She worked for the magazine branch of Emirates Neon Group for a while in the United Arab Emirates before to starting her career in hospitality.
Her career in hospitality started in 2010 at Kurumba Maldives. She then spent a considerable amount of time at Velassaru Maldives, where she worked as the marketing communications manager and assistant sales and manager till 2023.
Myla most recently worked as a member of the pre-opening team at Amari Raaya Maldives, where she developed her knowledge of pre-opening tactics and hospitality communications.

In addition to her career, Myla has a strong enthusiasm for diving, photography, and travel—pastimes that enhance her creativity and strengthen her bond with the Maldives’ pristine environment.
The Sun Siyam Resorts portfolio has expanded to six opulent private island resorts since the company’s founding in the Maldives (Sun Siyam Vilu Reef) in 1998. Siyam World, the most recent addition, will open in October 2021.
The resort portfolio includes a boutique beach hideaway on Sri Lanka’s east coast (Sun Siyam Pasikudah) and four 5-star resorts in the Maldives (Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and Sun Siyam World).

The resorts, which are owned and operated by the privately held Sun Siyam Group and were founded in 1990, represent the renowned friendliness of the Maldivians and Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, the Group’s creative MD and owner.
