The local Council of Thulusdhoo has issued a call for bids from parties interested in developing and operating guest houses on the island.
According to the information published in the government gazette, the K. Thulusdhoo Local Authority Company Ltd. will be accepting queries regarding the Bid invitation, starting from Monday. The Authority is made up of 100 percent shares of the council and owns 14871.07 acres of the land on the island.
According to the official Bid Invitation, the buy-in starts at MVR 15,000. The Council also requests that all queries regarding bids be submitted via email. It was around September of last year when the Local Council highlighted the need for community-based tourism and expressed hope in future developments following approval of the land-use plan.
Only 20 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport and bustling surf spots all around, Thulusdhoo receives a good number of tourists visiting especially Male’ Atoll.
