The Arrival team sat down with the Food and Beverage Supervisor at Reethi Beach, Mr. Gaurang Tanay to find out all about working in the F&B at Reethi Beach is like.

He believes one of the best things about working at Reethi Beach is the warmth of the staff. as well as the slew of repeat tourists that is a signature of the property.

“There is a warmth of the people who are working here as well as we get a lot of repeat guests. Then, the coziness of the property and the infrastructure (is unique) as well”.

He noted that the experience of working on the island alone is unforgettable and added,  “…especially working on an island like this in the middle of nowhere with so much luxury and in beautiful nature of course”.

His day as a supervisor of the Food and Beverage department has him up around 10:00 am on working days where the shift officially begins at 11:00 a.m, “I am here till 1 or 1:30 in the afternoon and then from 5 o’clock again till midnight”. He believes that the most essential skills to have when entering this field is to have discipline and attitude. Mr. Tanay added that the rest of the aspects such as product knowledge and techniques can be learned with time and experience, but it is the discipline and attitude that will determine the right direction.

He believes that the sky’s the limit for the future of this industry and notes that the work he does here is received well in his own community.

“We all work together as a family since we stay on our isolated island so you need to have that kind of bond and relationships with the people you work with as well.
