The Arrival

Why Hermit’s invokes ‘pure Bliss’: Stunningly homemade, gourmet food at this Dhigurah eatery

No sooner had we stepped off the jetty, we overheard what appeared to be regular visitors gab about how they couldn’t wait t o try Hermit’s. Intrigued, we added it to our itinerary as an afterthought. After a lof of sun, sand, and “chasing” Whale Sharks (they are so much faster than they look), a famished adventure-party set their eyes on Hermit’s located at Bliss Dhigurah boutique hotel.

A good, 25 minute leisurely walk from the jetty and what greeted us in the early afternoon sun was a terracotta tinged, white and teal dream. Not only was the spot filled with only smiling faces (a rare feat at any establishment), the staff immediately greeted us and ushered us to an available table. While the aromatic coffee machine stirred in a separate, more cool and serious section of the eatery, we were offered the lunch menu. Tantalizing hot butter calamari, hunger-busting burgers and a wonderful availability of vegetarian options beckoned us.

In the end, a crispy australian burger, stunningly aromatic pad thai and ofcourse, the hot butter calamri made its way to our table. Ravenous, every bite was increble! Silently thanking the vistors at the jetty for making this suggestion, we dug in and a good time was had by all. Within minjtes, we were left wanting more while our server suggested their homemade ice cream. We asked for revommendations and were told that passionfruit is good, while the coconut was mythic. We opted for the coconut ice cream and passionfruit sorbet and they definitely did not disappoint. A happy and seista-inclined mood set in as we took a coffee to go.
